As a restorer of fine arts and artefacts, Valerie’s many restorations include:

  • Original engravings by Norman Lindsay
  • Paintings by noted artists such as Arthur Boyd and Lady Elizabeth Butler
  • Architectural drawings of the Melbourne Exhibition Building
  • Eighteenth-century japanned lacquer cabinets
  • A seventeenth-century silk fan painting
  • carved gilded and laquered cabinets

In her previous role as managing director of China Relics and her current role as a freelance restorer, Valerie has received many accolades from art dealers: Andrew Broadway Valuations Pty Ltd: Fine and Decorative Art Services; Khattar Wong and Partners (Singapore); and notable private collectors.

 

Valerie has 25 years experience in defoxing Oil & Water Colour painting, Lithographs, Manuscripts, Chinese & Japanese lacquerware, Scroll, Screens, Furniture, Goldleaf, Carvings, Frames, Ivory, China, Pewter, Jade, Marble, Sculpture.
